Members of the Socialist Caucus see an opportunity to strengthen the Green Party by giving it more definite politics and to represent the interests of that oppressed community: the working class. A rudderless lack of direction will never lead forward- only the struggle against the ruling class will. We reject liberalism, the attempt to reconcile the limitations of capitalism by using the current state, as inherently incompatible with the solution we seek- the end of capitalism. In that spirit, we will work towards an effective political presence designed to sharpen our engagement with mass movement work.
We believe that only by ending capitalism and replacing it with socialism (the democratic control by working folks of society) can we fulfill the Ten Key Values. Self-emancipation is possible through mass struggles which, when successful, can end oppression and exploitation. Green independence from the Democratic Party is important and should be defended, as well as our independence from the capitalist class.
The Socialist Caucus recognizes the necessity and value of explicitly revolutionary struggle. The structures of the government were created and fostered specifically to protect capitalist rule, and socialists see the need for a new state—one based on real democracy, rather than the farcical veneer of democracy that we have today. With environmental disaster on the way, a radical shift in the very fabric of society will be required to avoid mass extinction—a shift that can only be won through revolution.
The Socialist Caucus makes an explicit and express call for full equality and liberation for all specially-oppressed groups of workers under capitalism. The liberation of the oppressed is essential to socialist revolution and impossible without socialist revolution. Since capitalism is the driving force of both continued imperialism and environmental destruction, we also see the struggle against it as international. We stand against US imperialism, both military and economic.

- No members may participate in any organizational support for or directly as law enforcement or correctional facility officers. We understand that the role of modern law enforcement has been created from its inception to suppress mass movements in favor of ending exploitation and oppression. Since their origins as strike breakers and slave patrols, police in the modern sense have stood against equality and justice and have shown willingness to violently suppress organizing again and again. As such, they are not welcome in the Socialist Caucus.
